Sintra village was very small so not much to see, however the castle and the Pena Palace were fascinating. Lots of walking on stone paths. Rain made it slippery at times. “Our guide Antonio was the best. He had complete knowledge of the history and stories of Lisbon and the surrounding area. We had a couple of history buffs in our group and we were well entertained for the full 4 hours. We had perfect weather for a day in a Tuk Tuk. And very little traffic. Antonio offered to take pictures of us and for us. We showed us directions to places we wanted to go after the tour and he suggested a great local restaurant for Peri Peri chicken. It was excellent. “A really nice overview of Sintra and the coast. We could have used more time at the Palace, I didn't have enough time to see the gardens. The guide was informative but sometimes had trouble with our American English. Wine tour was not possible since owner was away. We had some wine but it wasn't very good. In the future, I would request a guide who doesn't smoke, I ended up with a sinus headache, he didn't smoke near me but the car smelled of smoke.”
